When an lwt prog runs on a route, the skb always has a dst. To push an SRH,
bpf_lwt_push_encap() reads the device from this dst. But
bpf_prog_test_run_skb() sets a dst for lwt_xmit progs only. Thus the helper
dereferences a NULL dst in a test run of an lwt_in prog.
Set the same dst, ip6_null_entry, for lwt_in progs. When IPv6 is disabled
or not built, their test run now fails with -EOPNOTSUPP too. An lwt_out
prog cannot call this helper.

bpf_sk_lookup_assign() accepts only sockets which are freed by RCU, and
takes no reference. bpf_prog_test_run_sk_lookup() looks at sk_reuseport of
the selected socket and generates its cookie, which is a write, behind
bpf_test_timer_leave(), that is outside of the RCU read side critical
section in which the program ran. If the socket is closed in the meantime
it may be gone.
Do both before the section ends.

With BPF_F_TEST_SKB_CHECKSUM_COMPLETE, bpf_prog_test_run_skb() computes
skb->csum over the packet from the network header to the end and marks
the skb CHECKSUM_COMPLETE. After the program has run, it recomputes the
checksum and returns -EBADMSG if it does not match skb->csum.
bpf_skb_change_tail() resizes the skb with __skb_trim_rcsum() and
__skb_grow_rcsum(), which move a CHECKSUM_COMPLETE skb to CHECKSUM_NONE
and leave skb->csum as it is. The post-run check still compares against
that stale value, so a correct program fails with -EBADMSG. After a
trim, skb->csum still covers the removed bytes. After a grow, later
writes cannot update skb->csum, even with BPF_F_RECOMPUTE_CSUM, because
skb->csum is only adjusted for CHECKSUM_COMPLETE skbs.
skb->csum only holds the packet checksum while ip_summed is
CHECKSUM_COMPLETE. With CHECKSUM_NONE the stack does not rely on it and
validates the packet in software, so there is nothing to compare. Only
do the check if the skb is still CHECKSUM_COMPLETE after the run. A
program that keeps the skb CHECKSUM_COMPLETE but leaves skb->csum stale
still gets -EBADMSG.
Dropping the checksum offload is documented behaviour of
bpf_skb_change_tail() ("implicitly linearizes, unclones and drops
offloads"), and the stack does the same in other places, for example
skb_forward_csum(). The test harness has to accept CHECKSUM_NONE either
way, whether or not the helper is later taught to keep
CHECKSUM_COMPLETE.

xdp_test_run_setup() allocates xdp->frames and xdp->skbs with
kvmalloc_array(). The setup error path already releases both arrays with
kvfree(), while the normal teardown path still uses kfree().
Use kvfree() in xdp_test_run_teardown() as well, so the release helper
matches the allocator on both paths.

For non-linear test_run output, bpf_test_finish() derives the linear
data copy length from copy_size - frag_size. This only matches the
linear data length when copy_size is the full packet size.
When userspace provides a short data_out buffer, copy_size is clamped to
that buffer size. If copy_size is smaller than frag_size, the computed
length becomes negative and bpf_test_finish() returns -ENOSPC before
copying the packet prefix or updating data_size_out.
Compute the linear data length from the packet layout instead, and clamp
the linear copy length to copy_size. This preserves the expected
partial-copy semantics: return -ENOSPC, copy the packet prefix that fits
in data_out, and report the full packet length through data_size_out.

Adding new program attach types multi tracing attachment:
BPF_TRACE_FENTRY_MULTI
BPF_TRACE_FEXIT_MULTI
and their base support in verifier code.
Programs with such attach type will use specific link attachment
interface coming in following changes.
This was suggested by Andrii some (long) time ago and turned out
to be easier than having special program flag for that.
Bpf programs with such types have 'bpf_multi_func' function set as
their attach_btf_id and keep module reference when it's specified
by attach_prog_fd.
They are also accepted as sleepable programs during verification,
and the real validation for specific BTF_IDs/functions will happen
during the multi link attachment in following changes.

Adding struct bpf_tramp_node to decouple the link out of the trampoline
attachment info.
At the moment the object for attaching bpf program to the trampoline is
'struct bpf_tramp_link':
struct bpf_tramp_link {
struct bpf_link link;
struct hlist_node tramp_hlist;
u64 cookie;
}
The link holds the bpf_prog pointer and forces one link - one program
binding logic. In following changes we want to attach program to multiple
trampolines but we want to keep just one bpf_link object.
Splitting struct bpf_tramp_link into:
struct bpf_tramp_link {
struct bpf_link link;
struct bpf_tramp_node node;
};
struct bpf_tramp_node {
struct bpf_link *link;
struct hlist_node tramp_hlist;
u64 cookie;
};
The 'struct bpf_tramp_link' defines standard single trampoline link
and 'struct bpf_tramp_node' is the attachment trampoline object with
pointer to the bpf_link object.
This will allow us to define link for multiple trampolines, like:
struct bpf_tracing_multi_link {
struct bpf_link link;
...
int nodes_cnt;
struct bpf_tracing_multi_node nodes[] __counted_by(nodes_cnt);
};

The kmem_cache_alloc_bulk return value is weird. It returns the number
of allocated objects, but that must always be 0 or the requested number
based on the implementations and the handling in the callers, but that
assumption is not actually documented anywhere, which confuses automated
review tools.
Fix this by returning a bool if the allocation succeeded and adding a
kerneldoc comment explaining the API.

Rework __bpf_trace_run() to support sleepable BPF programs by using
explicit RCU flavor selection, following the uprobe_prog_run() pattern.
For sleepable programs, use rcu_read_lock_tasks_trace() for lifetime
protection with migrate_disable(). For non-sleepable programs, use the
regular rcu_read_lock_dont_migrate().
Remove the preempt_disable_notrace/preempt_enable_notrace pair from
the faultable tracepoint BPF probe wrapper in bpf_probe.h, since
migration protection and RCU locking are now handled per-program
inside __bpf_trace_run().
Adapt bpf_prog_test_run_raw_tp() for sleepable programs: reject
BPF_F_TEST_RUN_ON_CPU since sleepable programs cannot run in hardirq
or preempt-disabled context, and call __bpf_prog_test_run_raw_tp()
directly instead of via smp_call_function_single(). Rework
__bpf_prog_test_run_raw_tp() to select RCU flavor per-program and
add per-program recursion context guard for private stack safety.

bpf_prog_test_run_skb() calls eth_type_trans() first and then uses
skb->protocol to initialize sk family and address fields for the test
run.
For IPv4 and IPv6 packets, it may access ip_hdr(skb) or ipv6_hdr(skb)
even when the provided test input only contains an Ethernet header.
Reject the input earlier if the Ethernet frame carries IPv4/IPv6
EtherType but the L3 header is too short.
Fold the IPv4/IPv6 header length checks into the existing protocol
switch and return -EINVAL before accessing the network headers.

bpf_prog_test_run_skb() uses net->ipv6.ip6_null_entry for
BPF_PROG_TYPE_LWT_XMIT test runs.
It currently checks ipv6_bpf_stub before using ip6_null_entry.
ipv6_bpf_stub will be removed by the CONFIG_IPV6=m support removal
series posted at [1], so switch this check to ipv6_mod_enabled()
instead.
This change depends on that series [1]. Without it, CONFIG_IPV6=m is
still possible, and net->ipv6.ip6_null_entry remains NULL until
the IPv6 module is loaded.

The bpf_lwt_xmit_push_encap helper needs to access skb_dst(skb)->dev to
calculate the needed headroom:
err = skb_cow_head(skb,
len + LL_RESERVED_SPACE(skb_dst(skb)->dev));
But skb->_skb_refdst may not be initialized when the skb is set up by

in this scenario will trigger null pointer dereference, causing a kernel

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

The xdp_frame structure takes up part of the XDP frame headroom,
limiting the size of the metadata. However, in bpf_test_run, we don't
take this into account, which makes it possible for userspace to supply
a metadata size that is too large (taking up the entire headroom).
If userspace supplies such a large metadata size in live packet mode,
the xdp_update_frame_from_buff() call in xdp_test_run_init_page() call
will fail, after which packet transmission proceeds with an
uninitialised frame structure, leading to the usual Bad Stuff.
The commit in the Fixes tag fixed a related bug where the second check
in xdp_update_frame_from_buff() could fail, but did not add any
additional constraints on the metadata size. Complete the fix by adding
an additional check on the metadata size. Reorder the checks slightly to
make the logic clearer and add a comment.

Yinhao et al. reported that their fuzzer tool was able to trigger a
skb_warn_bad_offload() from netif_skb_features() -> gso_features_check().
When a BPF program - triggered via BPF test infra - pushes the packet
to the loopback device via bpf_clone_redirect() then mentioned offload
warning can be seen. GSO-related features are then rightfully disabled.
We get into this situation due to convert___skb_to_skb() setting
gso_segs and gso_size but not gso_type. Technically, it makes sense
that this warning triggers since the GSO properties are malformed due
to the gso_type. Potentially, the gso_type could be marked non-trustworthy
through setting it at least to SKB_GSO_DODGY without any other specific
assumptions, but that also feels wrong given we should not go further
into the GSO engine in the first place.
The checks were added in 121d57af308d ("gso: validate gso_type in GSO
handlers") because there were malicious (syzbot) senders that combine
a protocol with a non-matching gso_type. If we would want to drop such
packets, gso_features_check() currently only returns feature flags via
netif_skb_features(), so one location for potentially dropping such skbs
could be validate_xmit_unreadable_skb(), but then otoh it would be
an additional check in the fast-path for a very corner case. Given
bpf_clone_redirect() is the only place where BPF test infra could emit
such packets, lets reject them right there.

Fix a memory leak in bpf_prog_test_run_xdp() where the context buffer
allocated by bpf_ctx_init() is not freed when the function returns early
due to a data size check.
On the failing path:
ctx = bpf_ctx_init(...);
if (kattr->test.data_size_in - meta_sz < ETH_HLEN)
return -EINVAL;
The early return bypasses the cleanup label that kfree()s ctx, leading to a
leak detectable by kmemleak under fuzzing. Change the return to jump to the
existing free_ctx label.

This patch adds support for crafting non-linear skbs in BPF test runs
for tc programs. The size of the linear area is given by ctx->data_end,
with a minimum of ETH_HLEN always pulled in the linear area. If ctx or
ctx->data_end are null, a linear skb is used.
This is particularly useful to test support for non-linear skbs in large
codebases such as Cilium. We've had multiple bugs in the past few years
where we were missing calls to bpf_skb_pull_data(). This support in
BPF_PROG_TEST_RUN would allow us to automatically cover this case in our
BPF tests.
LWT program types are currently excluded in this patch. Allowing
non-linear skbs for these programs would require a bit more care because
they are able to call helpers (ex., bpf_clone_redirect, bpf_redirect)
that themselves call eth_type_trans(). eth_type_trans() assumes there
are at least ETH_HLEN bytes in the linear area. That may not be true
for LWT programs as we already pulled the L2 header via the
eth_type_trans() call in bpf_prog_test_run_skb().
In addition to the selftests introduced later in the series, this patch
was tested by enabling non-linear skbs for all tc selftests programs
and checking test failures were expected.

This patch reorders the initialization of bpf_prog_test_run_skb to

To test bpf_xdp_pull_data(), an xdp packet containing fragments as well
as free linear data area after xdp->data_end needs to be created.
However, bpf_prog_test_run_xdp() always fills the linear area with
data_in before creating fragments, leaving no space to pull data. This
patch will allow users to specify the linear data size through
ctx->data_end.
Currently, ctx_in->data_end must match data_size_in and will not be the
final ctx->data_end seen by xdp programs. This is because ctx->data_end
is populated according to the xdp_buff passed to test_run. The linear
data area available in an xdp_buff, max_linear_sz, is alawys filled up
before copying data_in into fragments.
This patch will allow users to specify the size of data that goes into
the linear area. When ctx_in->data_end is different from data_size_in,
only ctx_in->data_end bytes of data will be put into the linear area when
creating the xdp_buff.
While ctx_in->data_end will be allowed to be different from data_size_in,
it cannot be larger than the data_size_in as there will be no data to
copy from user space. If it is larger than the maximum linear data area
size, the layout suggested by the user will not be honored. Data beyond
max_linear_sz bytes will still be copied into fragments.
Finally, since it is possible for a NIC to produce a xdp_buff with empty
linear data area, allow it when calling bpf_test_init() from
bpf_prog_test_run_xdp() so that we can test XDP kfuncs with such
xdp_buff. This is done by moving lower-bound check to callers as most of
them already do except bpf_prog_test_run_skb(). The change also fixes a
bug that allows passing an xdp_buff with data < ETH_HLEN. This can
happen when ctx is used and metadata is at least ETH_HLEN.

Change the variable naming in bpf_prog_test_run_xdp() to make the
overall logic less confusing. As different modes were added to the
function over the time, some variables got overloaded, making
it hard to understand and changing the code becomes error-prone.
Replace "size" with "linear_sz" where it refers to the size of metadata
and data. If "size" refers to input data size, use test.data_size_in
directly.
Replace "max_data_sz" with "max_linear_sz" to better reflect the fact
that it is the maximum size of metadata and data (i.e., linear_sz). Also,
xdp_rxq.frags_size is always PAGE_SIZE, so just set it directly instead
of subtracting headroom and tailroom and adding them back.

The bpf selftest xdp_adjust_tail/xdp_adjust_frags_tail_grow failed on
arm64 with 64KB page:
xdp_adjust_tail/xdp_adjust_frags_tail_grow:FAIL
In bpf_prog_test_run_xdp(), the xdp->frame_sz is set to 4K, but later on
when constructing frags, with 64K page size, the frag data_len could
be more than 4K. This will cause problems in bpf_xdp_frags_increase_tail().
To fix the failure, the xdp->frame_sz is set to be PAGE_SIZE so kernel
can test different page size properly. With the kernel change, the user
space and bpf prog needs adjustment. Currently, the MAX_SKB_FRAGS default
value is 17, so for 4K page, the maximum packet size will be less than 68K.
To test 64K page, a bigger maximum packet size than 68K is desired. So two
different functions are implemented for subtest xdp_adjust_frags_tail_grow.
Depending on different page size, different data input/output sizes are used
to adapt with different page size.

KMSAN reported a use-after-free issue in eth_skb_pkt_type()[1]. The
cause of the issue was that eth_skb_pkt_type() accessed skb's data
that didn't contain an Ethernet header. This occurs when
bpf_prog_test_run_xdp() passes an invalid value as the user_data
argument to bpf_test_init().
Fix this by returning an error when user_data is less than ETH_HLEN in
bpf_test_init(). Additionally, remove the check for "if (user_size >
size)" as it is unnecessary.

Initially, xdp_frame::mem.id was used to search for the corresponding
&page_pool to return the page correctly.
However, after that struct page was extended to have a direct pointer
to its PP (netmem has it as well), further keeping of this field makes
no sense. xdp_return_frame_bulk() still used it to do a lookup, and
this leftover is now removed.
Remove xdp_frame::mem and replace it with ::mem_type, as only memory
type still matters and we need to know it to be able to free the frame
correctly.
As a cute side effect, we can now make every scalar field in &xdp_frame
of 4 byte width, speeding up accesses to them.
