2026-03-17platform/x86/intel/vsec: Switch exported helpers from pci_dev to deviceDavid E. Box2-3/+3
Preparatory refactor for ACPI-enumerated PMT endpoints. Several exported PMT/VSEC interfaces and structs carried struct pci_dev * even though callers only need a generic struct device. Move those to struct device * so the same APIs work for PCI and ACPI parents. Acked-by: Rodrigo Vivi <rodrigo.vivi@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David E. 2026-02-21Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argumentLinus Torvalds1-1/+1
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' | xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/' to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL argument to just drop that argument. Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered: they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically. For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate conversion. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2026-02-21treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar typesKees Cook1-1/+1
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook <kees@kernel.org>

2025-05-23platform/x86/intel/pmc: Fix Arrow Lake U/H NPU PCI IDTodd Brandt1-1/+2
The ARL requires that the GMA and NPU devices both be in D3Hot in order for PC10 and S0iX to be achieved in S2idle. The original ARL-H/U addition to the intel_pmc_core driver attempted to do this by switching them to D3 in the init and resume calls of the intel_pmc_core driver. The problem is the ARL-H/U have a different NPU device and thus are not being properly set and thus S0iX does not work properly in ARL-H/U. This patch creates a new ARL-H specific device id that is correct and also adds the D3 fixup to the suspend callback. This way if the PCI devies drop from D3 to D0 after resume they can be corrected for the next suspend. Thus there is no dropout in S0iX. 2025-05-15x86/cpuid: Set <asm/cpuid/api.h> as the main CPUID headerAhmed S. Darwish1-1/+1
The main CPUID header <asm/cpuid.h> was originally a storefront for the headers: <asm/cpuid/api.h> <asm/cpuid/leaf_0x2_api.h> Now that the latter CPUID(0x2) header has been merged into the former, there is no practical difference between <asm/cpuid.h> and <asm/cpuid/api.h>. Migrate all users to the <asm/cpuid/api.h> header, in preparation of the removal of <asm/cpuid.h>. Don't remove <asm/cpuid.h> just yet, in case some new code in -next started using it. 2025-05-08platform/x86:intel/pmc: Create Intel PMC SSRAM Telemetry driverXi Pardee6-78/+185
Convert ssram device related functionalities to a new driver named Intel PMC SSRAM Telemetry driver. Modify PMC Core driver to use API exported by the driver to discover and achieve devid and PWRMBASE address information for each available PMC. PMC Core driver needs to get PCI device when reading from telemetry regions. The new SSRAM driver binds to the SSRAM device and provides the following functionalities: 1. Look for and register telemetry regions available in SSRAM device. 2. Provide devid and PWRMBASE address information for the corresponding PMCs. For historic reasons there are some TSC-related functions in the <asm/msr.h> header, even though there's an <asm/tsc.h> header.
