This patch continues the effort to refactor workqueue APIs, which has begun
with the changes introducing new workqueues and a new alloc_workqueue flag:
commit 128ea9f6ccfb ("workqueue: Add system_percpu_wq and system_dfl_wq")
commit 930c2ea566af ("workqueue: Add new WQ_PERCPU flag")
The point of the refactoring is to eventually alter the default behavior of
workqueues to become unbound by default so that their workload placement is
optimized by the scheduler.
Before that to happen after a careful review and conversion of each individual
case, workqueue users must be converted to the better named new workqueues with
no intended behaviour changes:
system_wq -> system_percpu_wq
system_unbound_wq -> system_dfl_wq
This way the old obsolete workqueues (system_wq, system_unbound_wq) can be
removed in the future.

This continues the effort to refactor workqueue APIs, which began with
the introduction of new workqueues and a new alloc_workqueue flag in:
commit 128ea9f6ccfb ("workqueue: Add system_percpu_wq and system_dfl_wq")
commit 930c2ea566af ("workqueue: Add new WQ_PERCPU flag")
The refactoring is going to alter the default behavior of
alloc_workqueue() to be unbound by default.
With the introduction of the WQ_PERCPU flag (equivalent to !WQ_UNBOUND),
any alloc_workqueue() caller that doesn’t explicitly specify WQ_UNBOUND
must now use WQ_PERCPU. For more details see the Link tag below.
In order to keep alloc_workqueue() behavior identical, explicitly request
WQ_PERCPU.

ssam_serial_hub_probe()
An error code was assigned to a variable and checked accordingly.
This value was passed to a dev_err_probe() call in an if branch.
This function is documented in the way that the same value is returned.
Thus delete a redundant variable reassignment.
The source code was transformed by using the Coccinelle software.

In order to protect the platform_profile_handler from API consumers,
allocate it in platform_profile_register() and modify it's signature
accordingly.
Remove the platform_profile_handler from all consumer drivers and
replace them with a pointer to the class device, which is
now returned from platform_profile_register().
Replace *pprof with a pointer to the class device in the rest of
exported symbols.

Add a `probe` callback to platform_profile_ops, which lets drivers
initialize the choices member manually. This is a step towards

The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

* .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
* New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
* converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
*/
This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.
I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.
Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

no_llseek had been defined to NULL two years ago, in commit 868941b14441
("fs: remove no_llseek")
To quote that commit,

Merge "hwmon fixes for v6.11-rc7" into review-hans to bring in
commit a54da9df75cd ("hwmon: (hp-wmi-sensors) Check if WMI event
data exists").
This is a dependency for a set of WMI event data refactoring changes.

Add basic support for registering the aggregator module on Device Tree-
based platforms. These include at least three generations of Qualcomm
Snapdragon-based Surface devices:
- SC8180X / SQ1 / SQ2: Pro X,
- SC8280XP / SQ3: Devkit 2023, Pro 9
- X Elite: Laptop 7 / Pro11
Thankfully, the aggregators on these seem to be configured in an
identical way, which allows for using these settings as defaults and
no DT properties need to be introduced (until that changes, anyway).
Based on the work done by Maximilian Luz, largely rewritten.

There is a small window in ssam_serial_hub_probe() where the controller
is initialized but has not been started yet. Specifically, between
ssam_controller_init() and ssam_controller_start(). Any failure in this
window, for example caused by a failure of serdev_device_open(),
currently results in an incorrect warning being emitted.
In particular, any failure in this window results in the controller
being destroyed via ssam_controller_destroy(). This function checks the
state of the controller and, in an attempt to validate that the
controller has been cleanly shut down before we try and deallocate any
resources, emits a warning if that state is not SSAM_CONTROLLER_STOPPED.
However, since we have only just initialized the controller and have not
yet started it, its state is SSAM_CONTROLLER_INITIALIZED. Note that this
is the only point at which the controller has this state, as it will
change after we start the controller with ssam_controller_start() and
never revert back. Further, at this point no communication has taken
place and the sender and receiver threads have not been started yet (and
we may not even have an open serdev device either).
Therefore, it is perfectly safe to call ssam_controller_destroy() with a
state of SSAM_CONTROLLER_INITIALIZED. This, however, means that the
warning currently being emitted is incorrect. Fix it by extending the
check.

Add SAM client device nodes for the Surface Laptop Studio 6 (SL6). The
SL6 is similar to the SL5, with the typical battery/AC, platform
profile, and HID nodes. It also has support for the newly supported fan
interface.

Add SAM client device nodes for the Surface Laptop Studio 2 (SLS2). The
SLS2 is quite similar to the SLS1, but it does not provide the touchpad
as a SAM-HID device. Therefore, add a new node group for the SLS2 and
update the comments accordingly. In addition, it uses the new fan
control interface.

In the match() callback, the struct device_driver * should not be
changed, so change the function callback to be a const *. This is one
step of many towards making the driver core safe to have struct
device_driver in read-only memory.
Because the match() callback is in all busses, all busses are modified
to handle this properly. This does entail switching some container_of()
calls to container_of_const() to properly handle the constant *.
For some busses, like PCI and USB and HV, the const * is cast away in
the match callback as those busses do want to modify those structures at
this point in time (they have a local lock in the driver structure.)
That will have to be changed in the future if they wish to have their
struct device * in read-only-memory.

Change naming from tmp to platform profile to clarify the module may
interact with both the TMP and FAN subystems. Add functionality that
switches the fan profile when the platform profile is changed when
a fan is present.

receive_buf() is called from ttyport_receive_buf() that expects values
">= 0" from serdev_controller_receive_buf(), change its return type from
ssize_t to size_t.
The need for this clean-up was noticed while fixing a warning, see
commit 94d053942544 ("Bluetooth: btnxpuart: fix recv_buf() return value").
Changing the callback prototype to return an unsigned seems the best way
to document the API and ensure that is properly used.
GNSS drivers implementation of serdev receive_buf() callback return
directly the return value of gnss_insert_raw(). gnss_insert_raw()
returns a signed int, however this is not an issue since the value
returned is always positive, because of the kfifo_in() implementation.
gnss_insert_raw() could be changed to return also an unsigned, however
this is not implemented here as request by the GNSS maintainer Johan
Hovold.

Pull ACPI updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"From the new features standpoint, the most significant change here is
the addition of CSI-2 and MIPI DisCo for Imaging support to the ACPI
device enumeration code that will allow MIPI cameras to be enumerated
through the platform firmware on systems using ACPI.
Also significant is the switch-over to threaded interrupt handlers for
the ACPI SCI and the dedicated EC interrupt (on systems where the
former is not used) which essentially allows all ACPI code to run with
local interrupts enabled. That should improve responsiveness
significantly on systems where multiple GPEs are enabled and the
handling of one SCI involves many I/O address space accesses which
previously had to be carried out in one go with disabled interrupts on
the local CPU.
Apart from the above, the ACPI thermal zone driver will use the
Thermal fast Sampling Period (_TFP) object if available, which should
allow temperature changes to be followed more accurately on some
systems, the ACPI Notify () handlers can run on all CPUs (not just on
CPU0), which should generally speed up the processing of events
signaled through the ACPI SCI, and the ACPI power button driver will
trigger wakeup key events via the input subsystem (on systems where it
is a system wakeup device)
In addition to that, there are the usual bunch of fixes and cleanups.
Specifics:
- Add CSI-2 and DisCo for Imaging support to the ACPI device
enumeration code (Sakari Ailus, Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Adjust the cpufreq thermal reduction algorithm in the ACPI
processor driver for Tegra241 (Srikar Srimath Tirumala, Arnd

- Make acpi_proc_quirk_mwait_check() x86-specific (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Switch over ACPI to using a threaded interrupt handler for the SCI
(Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Allow ACPI Notify () handlers to run on all CPUs and clean up the
ACPI interface for deferred events processing (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Switch over the ACPI EC driver to using a threaded handler for the
dedicated IRQ on systems without the EC GPE (Rafael J. Wysocki)
- Adjust code using ACPICA spinlocks and the ACPI EC driver spinlock

- Adjust the USB4 _OSC handshake to correctly handle cases in which
