2026-06-11nfc: Use named initializers for struct i2c_device_idUwe Kleine-König (The Capable Hub)1-2/+2
While being less compact, using named initializers allows to more easily see which members of the structs are assigned which value without having to lookup the declaration of the struct. And it's also more robust against changes to the struct definition. While touching all these arrays, unify usage of whitespace in the list terminator. This patch doesn't modify the compiled arrays, only their representation in source form benefits. The former was confirmed with x86 and arm64 builds. 2026-06-11nfc: nxp-nci: treat -ENXIO in IRQ thread as no data availableCarl Lee1-0/+8
The I2C read operation in the IRQ thread may return -ENXIO when the controller has not yet provided data after asserting IRQ. IRQ assertion does not guarantee that data is immediately available on the I2C bus. In such cases, the read request may be NACKed, resulting in -ENXIO. Treat this condition as "no data available yet" and log it at debug level instead of reporting it as a read failure. This avoids misleading error messages during normal operation. 2026-06-11nfc: nxp-nci: Add ISO15693 supportCarl Lee1-0/+1
NXP NCI controllers such as PN7150 support ISO15693 Type 5 tags, but the driver does not currently advertise this protocol. Add NFC_PROTO_ISO15693_MASK so that ISO15693 tags can be detected through the Linux NFC stack. 2026-05-18nfc: nxp-nci: i2c: use rising-edge IRQ on ACPI systemsCarl Lee1-1/+20
Some ACPI-based platforms report incorrect IRQ trigger types (e.g. IRQF_TRIGGER_HIGH), which can lead to interrupt storms. Use the historically working rising-edge trigger on ACPI systems to avoid this regression. Device Tree-based systems continue to use the firmware-provided trigger type. 2026-03-03NFC: nxp-nci: Replace strcpy() with strscpy()Tomasz Unger1-1/+1
Replace strcpy() with strscpy() which limits the copy to the size of the destination buffer. Since fw_info->name is an array, the two-argument variant of strscpy() is used - the compiler deduces the buffer size automatically. This is a defensive cleanup replacing the deprecated strcpy() with the preferred strscpy(). For NXP NCI devices (e.g. PN7150), the interrupt is level-triggered and active high, not edge-triggered. Using IRQF_TRIGGER_RISING in the driver can cause interrupts to fail to trigger correctly. 2024-06-20nfc: Drop explicit initialization of struct i2c_device_id::driver_data to 0Uwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
These drivers don't use the driver_data member of struct i2c_device_id, so don't explicitly initialize this member. 2022-08-16i2c: Make remove callback return voidUwe Kleine-König1-3/+1
The value returned by an i2c driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. 2021-07-25nfc: constify nci_opsKrzysztof Kozlowski1-1/+1
The struct nci_ops is modified by NFC core in only one case: nci_allocate_device() receives too many proprietary commands (prop_ops) to configure. This is a build time known constrain, so a graceful handling of such case is not necessary. Instead, fail the nci_allocate_device() and add BUILD_BUG_ON() to places which set these. 2019-07-29NFC: nxp-nci: Add GPIO ACPI mapping tableAndy Shevchenko1-2/+16
In order to unify GPIO resource request prepare gpiod_get_index() to behave correctly when there is no mapping provided by firmware. Here we add explicit mapping between _CRS GpioIo() resources and their names used in the driver. 2019-07-29NFC: nxp-nci: Get rid of platform dataAndy Shevchenko3-10/+1
Legacy platform data must go away. We are on the safe side here since there are no users of it in the kernel. It seems a lot of laptops are equipped with NXP NFC300 chip with the ACPI ID NXP1001 as per DSDT. Append it to the driver's ACPI ID table. 2017-06-16networking: make skb_pull & friends return void pointersJohannes Berg1-2/+1
It seems like a historic accident that these return unsigned char *, and in many places that means casts are required, more often than not. Make these functions return void * and remove all the casts across the tree, adding a (u8 *) cast only where the unsigned char pointer was used directly, all done with the following spatch: @@ expression SKB, LEN; typedef u8; identifier fn = { skb_pull, __skb_pull, skb_pull_inline, __pskb_pull_tail, __pskb_pull, pskb_pull }; @@ - *(fn(SKB, LEN)) + *(u8 *)fn(SKB, LEN) @@ expression E, SKB, LEN; identifier fn = { skb_pull, __skb_pull, skb_pull_inline, __pskb_pull_tail, __pskb_pull, pskb_pull }; type T; @@ - E = ((T *)(fn(SKB, LEN))) + E = fn(SKB, LEN) Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2017-06-16networking: introduce and use skb_put_data()Johannes Berg2-5/+3
A common pattern with skb_put() is to just want to memcpy() some data into the new space, introduce skb_put_data() for this.
