It is possible for a BO to exist that is not currently associated with a
resource, e.g. because it has been evicted.
When devcoredump tries to read the contents of all BOs for dumping, we need
to expect this as well -- in this case, ENODATA is recorded instead of the
buffer contents.

Until now ttm stored a single pipelined eviction fence which means
drivers had to use a single entity for these evictions.
To lift this requirement, this commit allows up to 8 entities to
be used.
Ideally a dma_resv object would have been used as a container of
the eviction fences, but the locking rules makes it complex.
dma_resv all have the same ww_class, which means "Attempting to
lock more mutexes after ww_acquire_done." is an error.
One alternative considered was to introduced a 2nd ww_class for
specific resv to hold a single "transient" lock (= the resv lock
would only be held for a short period, without taking any other
locks).
The other option, is to statically reserve a fence array, and
extend the existing code to deal with N fences, instead of 1.
The driver is still responsible to reserve the correct number
of fence slots.

Some graphics APIs differentiate between out-of-graphics-memory and
out-of-host-memory (system memory). Add a device init flag to have -ENOSPC
propagated from the resource managers instead of being converted to
-ENOMEM, to aid driver stacks in determining what error code to return or
whether corrective action can be taken at the driver level.

GPUs typically benefit from contiguous memory via reduced TLB pressure and
improved caching performance, where the maximum size of contiguous block
which adds a performance benefit is related to hardware design.
TTM pool allocator by default tries (hard) to allocate up to the system
MAX_PAGE_ORDER blocks. This varies by the CPU platform and can also be
configured via Kconfig.
If that limit was set to be higher than the GPU can make an extra use of,
lets allow the individual drivers to let TTM know over which allocation
order can the pool allocator afford to make a little bit less effort with.
We implement this by disabling direct reclaim for those allocations, which
reduces the allocation latency and lowers the demands on the page
allocator, in cases where expending this effort is not critical for the
GPU in question.

Multiple consecutive boolean function arguments are usually not very
readable.
Replace the ones in ttm_device_init() with flags with the additional
benefit of soon being able to pass in more data with just a one off
code base churning cost.

There are a gazillion files that depend on drm_print.h being indirectly
included via drm_buddy.h, drm_mm.h, or ttm/ttm_resource.h. In
preparation for removing those includes, explicitly include drm_print.h
where needed.

The RISC-V Svpbmt privileged extension provides support for overriding
page memory coherency attributes, and, along with vendor extensions like
Xtheadmae, supports pgprot_{writecombine,noncached} on RISC-V.
Adapt the codepath that maps ttm_write_combined to pgprot_writecombine
and ttm_noncached to pgprot_noncached to RISC-V, to allow proper page
access attributes.

The `ttm_resource_manager_usage()` function currently assumes `man->bdev` is non-NULL when accessing `man->bdev->lru_lock`.
However, in scenarios where the resource manager is not fully initialized (e.g., APU platforms that lack dedicated VRAM, or incomplete manager setup),
`man->bdev` may remain NULL. This leads to a NULL pointer dereference when attempting to acquire the `lru_lock`, triggering kernel OOPS.
Fix this by adding an explicit safety check for `man->bdev` before accessing its members:
- Use `WARN_ON_ONCE(!man->bdev)` to emit a one-time warning (a soft assertion) when `man->bdev` is NULL. This helps catch invalid usage patterns during debugging without breaking production workflows.
- Return 0 immediately if `man->bdev` is NULL, as a non-initialized manager cannot have valid resource usage to report.

No funktional change, but the next step in removing the TTM BO reference
counting and replacing it with the GEM object reference counting.

While discussing cgroups we noticed a problem where you could export
a BO to a dma-buf without having it ever being backed or accounted for.
This meant in low memory situations or eventually with cgroups, a
lower privledged process might cause the compositor to try and allocate
a lot of memory on it's behalf and this could fail. At least make
sure the exporter has managed to allocate the RAM at least once
before exporting the object.
This only applies currently to TTM_PL_SYSTEM objects, because
GTT objects get populated on first validate, and VRAM doesn't
use TT.

contains largely uncorrelated cleanups to the NUMA node setup and
management code.

does some maintenance work on the userfaultfd code.

implements some tuneups for pagecache readahead when it is reading

provides (and uses) a means by which debug-style functions can grab
a copy of a pageframe and inspect it locklessly without tripping

reads from that procfs file. Latencies are reduced by more than

The test is quite fragile since it tries to allocate halve available system
memory + 1 page.
If the system has either not enough memory to make the allocation work
with other things running in parallel or to much memory so the allocation
fails as to large/invalid the test will fail.
Completely remove the test. We already validate swapout on the device
level and that test seems to be stable.

The test works even without it, but lockdep starts screaming when it is
activated.
Trivially fix it by acquiring the lock before we try to allocate
something.

This new api is used for hibernation to move GTT BOs to shmem after
VRAM eviction. shmem will be flushed to swap disk later to reduce
the system memory usage for hibernation.

shmem_writeout only needs the swap_iocb cookie and the split folio list.
Pass those explicitly and remove the now unused list member from struct
writeback_control.

If the ttm bo is backed by pages, then it's possible to safely kmap
one page at a time, using kmap_try_from_panic().
Unfortunately there is no way to do the same with ioremap, so it
only supports the kmap case.
This is needed for proper drm_panic support with xe driver.

Implement ttm_lru_walk_for_evict() using the guarded bo LRU iteration.
To facilitate this, support ticketlocking from the guarded bo LRU
iteration.

The default core shrink target of 128 pages (SHRINK_BATCH) is quite low
relative to how cheap TTM pool shrinking is, and how the free pages are
distributed in page order pools.
We can make the target a bit more aggressive by making it roughly the
average number of pages across all pools, freeing more of the cached
pages every time shrinker core invokes our callback.

Currently the TTM shrinker aborts shrinking as soon as it frees pages from
any of the page order pools and by doing so it can fail to respect the
freeing target which was configured by the shrinker core.
We use the wording "can fail" because the number of freed pages will
depend on the presence of pages in the pools and the order of the pools on
the LRU list. For example if there are no free pages in the high order
pools the shrinker core may require multiple passes over the TTM shrinker
before it will free the default target of 128 pages (assuming there are
free pages in the low order pools). This inefficiency can be compounded by
the pool LRU where multiple further calls into the TTM shrinker are
required to end up looking at the pool with pages.
Improve this by never freeing less than the shrinker core has requested.
At the same time we start reporting the number of scanned pages (freed in
this case), which prevents the core shrinker from giving up on the TTM
shrinker too soon and moving on.

Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie:
"As part of building up nova-core/nova-drm pieces we've brought in some
rust abstractions through this tree, aux bus being the main one, with
devres changes also in the driver-core tree. Along with the drm core
abstractions and enough nova-core/nova-drm to use them. This is still
all stub work under construction, to build the nova driver upstream.
The other big NVIDIA related one is nouveau adds support for
Hopper/Blackwell GPUs, this required a new GSP firmware update to
570.144, and a bunch of rework in order to support multiple fw
interfaces.
There is also the introduction of an asahi uapi header file as a
precursor to getting the real driver in later, but to unblock
userspace mesa packages while the driver is trapped behind rust
enablement.
Otherwise it's the usual mixture of stuff all over, amdgpu, i915/xe,
and msm being the main ones, and some changes to vsprintf.
